How Arena placements and Top 4 results fit together
A plain-language guide to reading placement history without reducing every Arena run to a single win-rate number.

Placement is the result of the full lobby
Arena Legacy stores the final placement reported for each completed match. A first-place result is the strongest finish, while a larger placement number means the run ended earlier in that lobby.
Looking at the full placement distribution shows whether your results are consistent or concentrated around a few exceptional games. That context is easier to trust than a single headline number.
Top 4 is a useful checkpoint
A Top 4 finish means the match ended in the upper half of the eight-player Arena lobby. It is a practical way to separate runs that reached the final rounds from games that ended earlier.
Top 4 does not mean the same thing as a win. Keep the actual placement beside the Top 4 count so a second-place run and a fourth-place run remain distinguishable.
Use averages with a sample-size check
Average placement can summarize a longer history, but it becomes more meaningful as you add games. A champion with two matches should not carry the same confidence as one with twenty.
When you compare your own champions, read average placement together with games played, wins and Top 4 finishes. The combination gives you a more honest picture of your current Arena record.
